About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Auditor, Risk Management to join our team at Alithya. As an Internal Audit Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our financial controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the VP, Internal Audit in ensuring compliance with SOX and regulations, with a focus on testing financial controls.
  2. Understand financial processes and ensure controls are properly designed, documented, and maintained in a continuously evolving environment.
  3. Plan and execute audits, evaluating risks, identifying internal controls to mitigate risks, designing audit procedures, and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
  4. Issue recommendations to management and assist in remediating control deficiencies and improving the control environment.
  5. Follow up with control owners regarding deficiencies identified during the documentation and testing phases.
  6. Recommend control design and modifications to ensure proficiency of controls, with a risk-based approach mindset.
  7. Collaborate with business process teams to improve program efficiency.
  8. Support Alithya's external auditors in their quarterly and annual audits.
  9. Participate in special assignments, including non-recurring internal audit mandates.
Requirements
  1. Accounting or internal audit designation (e.g., CPA, or CIA) or equivalent, or currently pursuing.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in external and/or internal audit, including an understanding of internal auditing standards, the COSO framework, risk management practices, accounting and financial reporting concepts and principles.
  3. Detail and results-oriented with a focus on quality.
  4. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  5. Ability to interact with and effectively influence people at all levels.
  6. Work independently, with limited direction and guidance, and initiate actions, ideas or solutions.
  7. Work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly and manage changing priorities.
  8. Deal with potentially difficult situations and time constraints.
