Job Details

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled Planner I to join our Planning & Development Department. This role requires a well-organized and resourceful individual with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of urban planning policies and strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and develop solutions.
  • Analyze data and research to inform planning decisions.
  • Develop and implement plans for land use, transportation, and community development.
  • Work with the public, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that planning decisions align with community goals.
Requirements
  • Completion of a university degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
  • Ability to acquire full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners within five years of employment.
  • Minimum of one year's experience as a planner in a municipal or private sector environment.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.
