Job Summary:
McMaster University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Psychometrist. As a key member of our research team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests under the general direction of a Principal Investigator or Research Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical interviews with study participants to gather information and assess their suitability for research studies.
- Administer and score psychological and neuropsychological tests to assess cognitive and emotional functioning, and provide expert interpretation of results.
- Coordinate the collection, delivery, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting of data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of research protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with research team members to plan and coordinate research studies, including the development of research proposals and protocols.
- Recruit and screen participants for research studies, ensuring that they meet the necessary criteria and provide informed consent.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of research literature and best practices in the field of psychology.
- Provide expert feedback to participants on their assessment results, and develop and implement strategies to improve research outcomes.
- Identify and address any issues or concerns that may arise during the research process, and develop and implement solutions to ensure the integrity of the research.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in psychological assessment and research.

- Experience working in a research setting, with a strong understanding of research protocols and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
