About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team at Marché du Faubourg Saint-Amable INC. as a key member of our Meat Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting and Preparing Meats: Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting, cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, and prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
  • Meat Handling and Display: Wrap and package prepared meats, remove bones from meat, weigh meats for sale, and cut poultry into parts.
  • Customer Service: Sell meats to customers, cut fish into steaks and fillets, and supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate band saws, manual cutting utensils, power grinders, sausage machines, and slicing machines.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Possess a Meat Cutter Trade Certification and certification with provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Physical Demands: Stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and possess excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate accuracy, client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organization, reliability, and teamwork.
