About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Connecting Dots - Dave Barr. As a key member of our child care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Child Care and Supervision: Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
  • Education and Training: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Record Keeping and Communication: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Team Collaboration and Community Engagement: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.
  • Personal Suitability: Reliability, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Child care centre.
  • Work Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
  • Work Language: English.
