Job Title: Manager Data Standards - Quality & Governance

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager Data Standards - Quality & Governance to join our team at Sobeys. As a key member of our Corporate Office Careers team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our data.

Job Summary:

The Manager Data Standards - Quality & Governance will be responsible for leading a team to improve domain data through established data governance, data quality measurement, and process redesign. You will work closely with business teams to define data standards and policies, and implement process changes to maintain data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to improve domain data through established data governance, data quality measurement, and process redesign.
  • Work closely with business teams to define data standards and policies, and implement process changes to maintain data integrity.
  • Conduct ongoing prioritization and road-mapping with functional business teams for data quality and governance programs.
  • Identify opportunities for data quality improvement initiatives with business partners to address quality trouble areas.
  • Track adoption of data governance processes and compliance with established standards.
  • Help business teams define new processes or update existing processes to build and maintain integrity in their data assets.
  • Design and implement data ownership programs, including training and onboarding for new data owners.
  • Track and measure overall progress in data quality improvement, active data governance, and establishment of standards and policies.
  • Engage and direct data governance and data engineering for required tasks.
Requirements:
  • Experience implementing customer data platforms and identity resolution solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience of data delivery programs, including migration to cloud (Azure and/or Snowflake) and build data products on cloud platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to align with teams across business areas while influencing decisions with more senior level audiences.
  • The ability to translate ambiguous business problems into a clear concise business case and structured project/program.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of privacy or data governance concepts.
  • Power BI, Tableau, and experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), and Axon.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure ADLS, Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, and knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data structures.
  • Understanding of marketing, loyalty, and digital data domains, including campaign management, audience build, loyalty offers, audience targeting, and digital engagements.
  • Knowledge of effective data management practices (governance, data quality, data engineering, data standards).
