Logistics Coordinator

Position: Shipping Associate
Status: Regular, Full time
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Job Overview
In the role of Shipping Associate, you will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and play a crucial part in ensuring that all shipments are precise and dispatched promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine all items received from the picking area and confirm their accuracy against packing documentation.
- Organize all items from the picking area with their respective orders.
- Generate Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments.
- Securely wrap shipments on pallets.
- Manage various courier shipments through their respective online systems.
- Utilize a pump truck to transport shipments into designated shipping zones.
- Provide assistance to customers at the Pick-Up Window.
- Support drivers from carriers upon their arrival.
- Maintain cleanliness in the shipping area, including the external ramp and beneath dock doors.
- Engage in various projects as directed by the Shipping Manager or Shipping Leads.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role is essential, with the ability to work overtime.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, as many packages are substantial.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment while ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to sustain a high level of physical activity for extended periods, primarily in a standing position.
- Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills are vital, as teamwork is essential for maintaining an organized warehouse.
- Experience operating a forklift and possessing professional forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Capacity to quickly solve problems and prioritize daily tasks based on their significance.
- Personal accountability and integrity are critical, as a shipping associate is responsible for accurate inventory management.
- Relevant customer service experience is advantageous, as shipping associates interact with clients.
