Overview: Jardeg is actively seeking experienced B-Pressure Welder Journeypersons (Hand Welders) to contribute to the Suncor Fort Hills project team located near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role is a permanent position with a 7/7 shift schedule. Ideal candidates will possess experience collaborating with various trades such as Millwrights and Pipefitters.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Expertly fuse metals using specified welding techniques.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with welding equipment and procedures.
  • Interpret drawings and create layout patterns for projects, calculating material quantities as needed.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases, and filler rods.
  • Identify defective welds and understand the necessary repair procedures.
  • Apply mathematical calculations relevant to the welding trade.
  • Understand and adhere to required codes and standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople.
  • Execute tasks in alignment with industry quality and production standards.
  • Maintain valid CWB certification for the processes utilized.
  • Hold a valid B-pressure ticket in the applicable processes, if required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal.
  • CSTS Certification.
  • H2S Alive Certification.
  • AWP Certification.
  • Fall Protection Certification.
  • Confined Space Certification.
  • Common Safety Orientation Certification.
  • Overhead Crane & Rigging Certification.
  • Mask Fit Test completion.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.

Welding Certifications: (must be current and within 6 months)

  • F3/F4 – Carbon SMAW
  • F6/F5 – Stainless TIG
  • F6 – Stainless GTAW
  • F43 – Inconel
  • CWB
  • B-pressure
