Millwork Shop Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Millwork Shop Manager to lead our production team in creating high-quality retail environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production on the shop floor to ensure timely delivery of projects and meet customer demands.
  • Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to achieve objectives for labor, materials, costs, safety, and delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure accuracy of drawings and BOMs for smooth manufacturing.
  • Supervise production trades in the build of retail, commercial, and residential environments.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and controls throughout production, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Promote and ensure the health and safety of all employees.
  • Implement modern manufacturing concepts (Lean, cell, etc.) to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workspace and safe operation of tools and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Operations or a related field, including skilled trades such as Cabinet Maker, Carpenter, Metal Fabricator, etc.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience in retail environments, store fixtures, millwork, metal fabrication, and/or custom multi-material environments.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading a manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing concepts.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and improve manufacturing operations with measurable results.
  • Effective communication style with a positive attitude.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Driven with an unprecedented level of initiative and customer focus.
  • Genuine, caring, and a team player interested in success for all stakeholders.
