Traffic Management Specialist

M3 Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Traffic Control Person to join our team. As a Traffic Control Person, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic at various work sites.
Key Responsibilities- Setting up traffic control zones to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Adjusting work zone equipment to meet the needs of the project.
- Responding to emergency situations and hazards in a timely and effective manner.
- Providing clear and precise traffic control directions to motorists.
- Conducting traffic control at worksites in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring traffic control capabilities meet or exceed requirements for quality, delivery, safety, and responsiveness.
- Complying with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participating in health and safety meetings to discuss work site safety and procedures.
- Maintaining confidentiality of company business and records.
- Reporting incidents and accidents to the Health and Safety Officer.
- Wearing personal protective equipment as required by WorkSafeBC Regulations.
- Using personal traffic control equipment as required for low visibility or night work.
- Using two-way radios in accordance with company protocol procedures.
- Ensuring Traffic Control Person certificate is always current and valid.
- Attending training programs as required by the Company.
- Ensuring time sheets are signed off and submitted on time.
- Qualified Lane Control Technician Certificate as per WorkSafeBC Regulation for traffic control.
- Good knowledge and understanding of WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Section 18.
- Knowledge and understanding of WCB Act, sections, General Duties.
- Knowledge and understanding of Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Control Manual for Work on Roadways.
- Knowledge of the requirements of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations related to traffic control.
- Minimum 1 year experience in traffic control.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25lb from floor to shoulder level.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Full range of motion of arms and legs.
- Weekly pay via eTransfer.
