Role Summary:

The pharmacist in the dispensary is tasked with guaranteeing the precise and safe dispensing of all prescriptions while delivering pharmaceutical care that ensures optimal therapeutic outcomes for residents.

Daily Responsibilities:

Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and complete dispensing of medication orders. Execute daily responsibilities in alignment with established workplace policies and procedures. Consult with pharmacy management on unresolved operational issues. Provide exceptional care to CareRx pharmacy patients. Maintain professional communication with all members of the resident care team, adhering to corporate policies to uphold high standards of customer care and pharmacy service quality. Ensure accurate, organized, and comprehensive resident health records, maintaining continuity of care. Conduct medication regimen/profile assessments with appropriate documentation of recommendations. Adhere to all provincial and federal pharmacy laws, standards, and regulations. Follow corporate regulations, policies, and procedures consistently. Assist in monitoring and maintaining pharmacy inventory. Participate in training and support for newly hired and existing pharmacy team members as needed. Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with pharmaceutical, medical, and licensing information, along with corporate updates and standards. Prepare and compound medications as necessary. Uphold a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

Licensed and insured in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A). Proven ability to build strong relationships with healthcare team members. Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills. High proficiency in both written and spoken English. Familiarity with Kroll Windows application. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with individuals at various levels of expertise. Highly organized with strong time management capabilities. Skilled in critical thinking and able to prioritize tasks effectively. Demonstrated initiative and creativity. Self-directed with minimal supervision, capable of working independently. Motivated to achieve high-quality results. Strong listening skills and adaptability to changes in the work environment. Dependable and responsible in executing job duties. Adaptable to internal changes. Previous experience in retail pharmacy. Strong teaching abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in long-term care pharmacy.
