Job Title: Nurse Practitioner, Cleft Palate Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at BC Children's Hospital and BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre. As a Nurse Practitioner, Cleft Palate Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with cleft palate and craniofacial conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat patients with cleft palate and craniofacial conditions, including ordering diagnostic investigations and interpreting results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including writing orders for treatment and medications.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, including counseling and guidance on health findings, diagnoses, and prognoses.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess and diagnose patient status, and make referrals as necessary.
  • Prescribe medications within statutory and regulatory standards, limits, and conditions, and within applicable employer policies and procedures.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance patient care and nursing practice.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain accurate records.
