Healthcare Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a wide range of clinical services to individuals, including screening, assessment, individual counseling, treatment planning, discharge planning, crisis intervention, group programming, case management/navigation, and consultation.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work, and have at least two years of related clinical experience. You will be knowledgeable and skilled in using harm reduction, recovery models, and the psychosocial rehabilitation model (PSR). Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships, and a high degree of proficiency in screening and risk assessment skills are essential.

About You- Strong clinical skills and experience working with individuals with substance use/gambling concerns and/or mental health
- Knowledge of community resources/programs and community development methods
- Ability to work evening/weekend hours
- Sound working knowledge of harm reduction strategies and stages of change theory
- Knowledge and experience with brief intervention strategies, solution-focused approaches, motivational interviewing skills, and client engagement strategies
- Knowledge and experience with trauma-informed care approach
- Knowledge of social determinants of health/social context and its importance to decision formulation
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
$42.89 Hourly
