Power and Recovery Supervisor

Job Summary
This is a challenging role that requires a strong leader to oversee the Power and Recovery Department at Paper Excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the department, including the recovery boiler and power equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure operating parameters are met and any non-conformances are properly logged and addressed.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement effective safety protocols to prevent incidents and ensure compliance with environmental procedures.
- Monitor and optimize process performance to meet efficiency and production targets.
- Coordinate daily maintenance work with the maintenance department and ensure reliability specifications are met.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption and improve energy utilization.
- Provide leadership and direction to crew members, including coaching and mentoring to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments to achieve established objectives.
- Develop and implement effective employee relations and customer satisfaction strategies to enhance team work and productivity.
- Ensure financial accountability through participation in budget planning and management.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with team members to ensure a positive working environment and empower them to contribute to the success of the department.
Requirements
- Valid Inter-provincial or Second Class Power Engineer Certificate.
- Minimum five (5) years experience with high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, Pulp mill experience preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to respond to internal customer needs and enhance team work.
- Demonstrated leadership in problem-solving techniques, troubleshoot and resolve technical, operation and personnel matters.
