Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Technical Project Manager to oversee a significant datacenter build program in Montreal, Canada.

Role Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a large-scale datacenter build-out and infrastructure deployment. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Acting as a project stakeholder and collaborating with engineering and operations teams across various technology disciplines.
  2. Demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and project success.
  3. Developing and shaping project strategies.
  4. Exhibiting excellent skills in project scheduling and estimation.
  5. Creating comprehensive project plans.
  6. Gathering and documenting project requirements.
  7. Matrix-managing the core project team.
  8. Executing project plans where applicable.
  9. Scheduling and negotiating work windows as necessary.
  10. Monitoring project progress and scheduled work.
  11. Escalating technical and procedural issues as needed.
  12. Defining and revising operational processes and policies.
  13. Delivering management reports and presentations.
  14. Creating and updating technical documentation.
  15. Managing budgeting, cost analysis, and funding requests.
  16. Planning resources effectively.
  17. Conducting data analysis as required.
  18. Coordinating cross-disciplinary efforts.
  19. Leading project roadshows and technology forums.
  20. Facilitating Business Unit communication.
  21. Maintaining accurate meeting documentation to meet audit and regulatory standards.
Candidate Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

• A college degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience managing complex IT projects.

• Proven experience in large-scale datacenter build-outs (5,000+ sq. ft.).

• Proficiency in deploying Windows and Linux infrastructure.

• Experience with SAN and NAS infrastructure deployment.

• Knowledge of network infrastructure deployment.

• Familiarity with standard business productivity tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

• Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel).

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and Project Management methodologies.

• Ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team and demonstrate self-starter qualities.

• Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing projects during periods of change.

• Ability to unite teams towards a common goal, even when team members do not report directly to the project manager.

• Capability to thrive in high-pressure environments while managing multiple tasks.

• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines across various projects.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

• In-depth knowledge of PMI approaches and their application in the industry.

• Education Level: Bachelor's Degree.
