Occupational Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interprofessional team at St. Joseph's Care Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing occupational therapy services to clients with chronic pain, working collaboratively with our team to develop and implement treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients with chronic pain, including functional assessments, mental health support, and education on self-management principles.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team, utilizing a decision guide model of care and strengths-based approaches.
  • Work with clients to identify and achieve SMART goals, promoting independence and empowerment.
  • Provide individual and group interventions, psychoeducation, and public education on chronic pain management.
  • Collaborate with community resources and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Knowledge and experience with decision guide models of care, triage of referrals, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Experience working with adult populations with serious and persistent mental health concerns, and the development, execution, and evaluation of treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in oral, written, and electronic communications.
Condition of Employment:
  • This position is conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) and proof of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption.
