Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Community Transitions team in Central Zone. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up services to clients in the community, focusing on their occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and caregivers. They will also be a member of the Community Occupational Therapy - Physiotherapy Team and liaise with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary hospital care teams, and community agencies and service providers.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist with a graduate degree from a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist, with community experience being an asset. They will also be licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS) and maintain current certification in CPR and BLS-C (HCP).
The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. They will also have a valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for home/community visits.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $42.89. The successful candidate may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
