Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine physician to join our team at Cowichan District Hospital for part-time and full-time locum coverage. Our Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that sees a high volume of patients daily.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of shifts, including day, afternoon, early evening, late evening, and overnight shifts. You will also have the chance to work in our Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit (RADU), which manages patients who are likely to be discharged within 24 hours of admission.
We are affiliated with the University of British Columbia's Island Medical Program and participate in teaching medical students and residents. We are also the pre-deployment readiness site for military physicians and PAs.
Our team is known for its great collegial relationships across the acute and community settings, and an active and engaged Division of Family Practice and Medical Staff Association. We are excited to be actively involved in planning for the new Cowichan District Hospital, which will feature state-of-the-art equipment and design.
