About the Role

Bombardier is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing guidance and support to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing complex litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal clients to resolve contentious matters, investigate issues, and develop effective strategies to prevent lawsuits or anticipate litigation.
  • Manage Bombardier's litigation files worldwide, supervising external counsel, developing strategies, and participating in various phases of litigation.
  • Attend depositions, trials, and mediations as needed, and handle Bombardier's obligations during the discovery phase of complex litigation matters.
  • Report to the Bombardier management team on the progress and strategy of litigation matters.
  • Assume a leading role in risk management and use your leadership and soft skills to influence decisions and outcomes.
Requirements
  • You are a practicing member of a Canadian province or US state bar, preferably the Quebec Bar, with a degree in both civil and common law.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant expertise in commercial litigation, preferably at a renowned law firm.
  • You possess leadership skills, a strong level of autonomy, and excellent judicial instincts to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are comfortable working in a highly technical environment with engineering/aerospace concepts and are able to evolve in a constantly changing environment.
  • You easily manage a busy schedule, are open to travel for business, and are an excellent communicator, negotiator, and drafter.
  • You have an interest in new technologies and are perfectly bilingual (French, English) both orally and in writing.
