Medical Liaison for Vaccines in Specialty Care

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will leverage your non-promotional medical expertise to promote the safe and effective utilization of GSK's products. This will be achieved through significant scientific interactions and support for key external and internal stakeholders, in alignment with the therapeutic area Medical Plan. In this field-based role, you will work closely with field partners, adopting a stakeholder-centric approach to deliver credible scientific clinical information regarding our vaccines to healthcare professionals, external experts, organizations, and decision-makers, in accordance with GSK's principles for scientific engagement. Frequent travel within Ontario East and Atlantic Canada is a requirement of this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be expected to:

  • Cultivate, establish, and sustain scientific peer-to-peer relationships with key external experts by presenting balanced scientific data, supporting advanced medical educational opportunities, and providing scientific assistance while adhering to the highest industry standards and GSK values, policies, and regulations.
  • Serve as the recognized scientific partner in the territory, maintaining a profound understanding of diseases, vaccines, treatments, and the competitive landscape to ensure excellent scientific dialogue and clinical knowledge translation aligned with business strategy.
  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability to engage and provide value across a spectrum of both internal and external stakeholders (including external experts, healthcare professionals, investigators, professional societies, organizations, advocacy groups, and decision-makers) in a non-promotional manner, responding effectively to unsolicited inquiries.
  • Act as a proactive and solutions-oriented partner, serving as the primary interface between the healthcare community and internal cross-functional GSK teams to gather and relay insights that inform current and future business strategies.
  • Represent GSK at scientific congresses by leading external expert engagement plans, providing session/abstract coverage, booth staffing, and contributing to scientific summaries as required.
  • Deliver scientific training for GSK commercial colleagues regarding GSK products and the conditions they address, utilizing approved sales training materials.
  • Assist medical, clinical, and HEOR teams with evidence generation projects as needed, and support the identification of potential clinical trial sites for clinical development activities in Canada as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent English scientific/medical communication skills (fluent written and verbal communication) with an advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, Ph.D., PharmD). Candidates must reside within Ontario.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on cross-functional teamwork and strategic execution of the medical affairs plan in alignment with overarching business strategy within your territory.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange with healthcare professionals within the Canadian pharmaceutical landscape.
  • Proficient negotiation, territory management, team leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with reimbursement processes in Canada.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for this field-based role.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the territory up to 70%, including evenings and weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5+ years of prior experience in a medical affairs role (preferably field-based) with established relationships/networks in cardiology, endocrinology, and nephrology therapeutic areas is strongly preferred.
