Orthodontic Hygienist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Canadian Orthodontic Partners. As a key member of our Toronto team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in an enthusiastic and personalized manner.

As an Orthodontic Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing patient care and support, ensuring patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health. You will also educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care and support in an enthusiastic and personalized manner.
  • Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goals for comprehensive oral health.
  • Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
  • Collect patient dental and medical history, and reference during examinations.
  • Prepare patients for the Orthodontist, and prepare equipment for X-Rays.
  • Take X-Rays and follow safety procedures.
  • Examine gums for infections or gum disease, and clean patient teeth.
  • Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances, and place and remove arch wires.
  • Update patient records and examination notes.
  • Perform lab duties and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Call patients for aftercare and answer questions.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an orthodontic office is required.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
  • Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within the province, in good standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
  • Great time management and organizational skills.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training.
