We are a leading provider of senior care services, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents. We are currently seeking a passionate and caring Activity Aide to join our team at our Southbridge Owen Sound home.

Job Summary

The Activity Aide will play a vital role in planning and implementing activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. This is a part-time position that requires a high level of enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement individual and group activity programs based on resident needs and preferences.
  • Set up and clean activity areas, and transport residents to and from programs.
  • Monitor resident behavior and condition during programs, and report any significant changes to the Resident Program Manager and nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation and resident engagement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs and ensure a high level of care and support.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document resident interactions and program participation.
  • Knowledge and experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation for residents with cognitive impairments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with the geriatric population, particularly those with cognitive impairments.
