Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Testing Supervisor to join our team at CP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive company-owned vehicles and rental cars to locations to perform daily testing and inspections.
  • Operate and maintain company-owned ultrasonic rail testing equipment on various segments of our assigned territory.
  • Calibrate and ensure equipment is up to standards to perform quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Roadmaster to develop and implement strategies to keep rail flaw detection equipment on schedule and meet production targets.
  • Ensure track protection and adherence to all safety rules to guarantee a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Perform quality work to ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the SPC and Red Book by issuing appropriate protective slow orders.
  • Be available on a regular basis outside of normal business hours and workdays for on-call duties.
  • Work a 2 weeks on, 1 week off schedule (travel required to get to work and back home).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Previous railway experience is an asset.
  • Training in rail flaw ultrasonic testing is preferred but not required.
  • Instrumentation and testing experience in other disciplines is an asset.
  • High proficiency in using a computer and troubleshooting ability.
  • Proficiency in using tools to make mechanical repairs to equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
