About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Consultant to join our team at Aon Hewitt. As a key member of our Investment Consulting Practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality investment consulting services to our institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consulting support services and technical expertise to institutional clients, including pension and benefit plans, insurance funds, trust and endowment funds, and other special purpose funds.
  • Anticipate client issues, needs, or concerns and develop solutions to meet those needs in partnership with the Account Executive/lead Consultants.
  • Review client accounts and relationships and recommend ways to improve the value Aon brings to the client, based on a deep understanding of the client's business and insight into industry and investment trends.
  • Contribute to the development of the go-to-market strategy for the Investment Consulting Practice.
  • Identify gaps between client needs and existing Aon Investment Consulting services and propose and develop service enhancements.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in a financial/investment consulting environment.
  • Thorough understanding of institutional investment and investment industry insight and processes.
  • Understanding of investment concepts and the financial markets.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian pension fund market.
  • Ability to support a book of business and manage an extensive portfolio of diverse institutional clients.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical decision-making, and developing solutions for clients/business issues.
  • Entrepreneurial and creative spirit by recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities to help with the growth and expansion of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently on various projects and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current concerning investment industry trends, activity in the market, provincial and federal legislative policies, and changes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of business applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Some travel is required to service clients.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, Actuarial Science, or Commerce, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Completion of an MBA or CFA is preferred.
