About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at THE GEORGE TRADITIONAL HOUSE INC. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items, including portioning, wrapping, and labeling.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Scour pots and pans, and keep records of the quantities of food used.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
    • Handle and store cleaning products, and receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and sharpen kitchen knives.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with handling of heavy loads, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, team player, ability to multitask, initiative, dependability, and positive attitude.
