Borea Construction is seeking a highly skilled Sr Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting and advising management and internal teams on various matters of a commercial and contractual nature.

Your Mission

Under the supervision of the Director of Legal Affairs, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret various contracts and commercial documents related to construction projects.
  • Develop and update contract models and tools to facilitate the management and understanding of contracts by internal teams.
  • Advise management and internal teams on legal requirements and risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice on dispute resolution and claims management, using a proactive and practical approach.
  • Manage litigation and structuring projects for the organization.
  • Provide training to internal teams and perform other tasks related to the position.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Laws and membership in a Canadian bar association, with US bar association membership being an asset.
  • At least 7 years of experience in construction and/or business law, particularly in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral, as well as good communication and popularization skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in the renewable energy, engineering, and/or construction industry.
