About the Role

As a Group Benefits Analyst, you'll play a vital role in supporting Canada Life's growth strategy by handling all underwriting analyst functions for new business quotes and renewing existing Employee Benefit Plans. Reporting to the Regional Sales Support Manager, you'll collaborate closely with Account Managers, Underwriters, and other key stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) for Non-Refund and Administrative Service Only (ASO) plans up to the field underwriting limit, including manual rate calculations and experience rate analysis.
  • Analyze data, identify plan design opportunities, and make basic pricing decisions to drive new sales and renew existing employee benefit plans.
  • Respond to requests for pricing plan amendments.
  • Calculate manual rates by manipulating data and determining the proper setup of classes and benefit descriptions.
  • Recommend plan designs and product solutions to Account Managers through analysis of client claiming patterns and within a financial advisor's book of business.
  • Prepare experience analyses on all benefits (Life, Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Health, and Dental benefits) based on experience information provided.
  • Track management report requirements for the office, ensuring that compiled information can be utilized by management to make sound business decisions and achieve regional objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional sales office teams and head office staff (e.g., underwriting and reporting areas) is essential to the success and development of the role.
