Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Specialist to join our team at CP. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for executing finance systems processes in SAP ECC and BPC to support month-end and quarter-end close, annual budget, and monthly forecasting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute finance systems processes in SAP ECC and BPC to support financial close and forecasting activities
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives with Finance business partners and Information Services to improve data transparency for analysis and insights
  • Provide system-related advisory and troubleshooting support, and develop creative solutions for implementation for other Finance and business teams
  • Serve as a Finance representative and collaborate with business subject matter experts to qualify and gather business requirements, assess existing technology configuration, input on system/process/configuration design, support system test, and user acceptance testing
  • Partner with Information Services and support Finance users to identify root cause for Finance system errors and failures
  • Support other finance initiatives as required, including integration work supporting the KCS acquisition and migration to SAP S/4 HANA
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other relevant fields
  • CPA designation is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP ECC and BPC or similar experience with comparable tools
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, including Central Finance and BPC Consolidations, or similar preferred
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity to identify root causes and ability to work collaboratively toward a common solution
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who can work independently and take initiative to drive change with limited oversight
  • Superior customer service skills and able to provide training to end-user groups of disparate skill and knowledge levels
