Marketing and Communications Specialist

Odyssey Theatre is seeking a creative and dynamic Marketing and Communications Officer to promote a new community arts engagement series as part of our 38th season of theatre in Ottawa's Strathcona Park.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team and help us promote our summer season. The successful candidate will work with our General Manager to create effective digital marketing and social media campaigns to promote performances and events in our community outreach programs and special events.
The ideal candidate will have training/experience in marketing, communications, media/public relations, Theatre or similar, and a passion for the arts. They will have excellent writing skills, strong communications skills dealing with the media, community groups and the public, and strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for planning and implementing marketing initiatives to promote our summer season, developing written and visual digital creative materials, updating our web sites and social media, preparing and monitoring digital ads, creating blogs, interviews, and taking photos and videos, overseeing distribution of printed marketing materials, and media relations and outreach.
