Position Overview:

Parsons is seeking a talented Junior Project Manager to contribute to our initiatives. In this role, you will oversee environmental assessments and remediation projects of various scales, including the management of junior staff and technical teams involved in field investigations, budget oversight, client interactions, and report generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams of professionals and support staff.
  • Provide technical guidance in the management and design of contaminated site projects, including investigations and remediation strategies.
  • Coordinate and supervise Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Oversee remedial design and site remediation efforts, including various techniques such as excavations, bioremediation, and mechanical technologies.
  • Conduct peer reviews of technical documents and reports.
  • Assist in business development efforts, including proposal writing for various projects.
  • Manage project coordination and administration, including:
    • Environmental assessments and remediation projects
    • Monitoring budgets and project finances
    • Report preparation
    • Maintaining client relationships across different sectors
    • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Engage in negotiations with regulatory bodies and participate in public meetings on behalf of clients.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in earth sciences, environmental sciences, or a related engineering field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of consulting experience in the environmental sector, with a strong understanding of relevant federal and provincial regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental assessments and remediation methodologies.
  • Experience working within diverse, multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing project budgets.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, EQuIS, and ArcGIS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in downstream or upstream oil and gas sectors is advantageous.
  • Experience managing contaminated site projects with significant consulting values is a plus.
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, professional designation as a geologist, engineer, biologist, or agrologist in relevant jurisdictions is preferred.
