About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Pops Taphouse & Grill / Pops Pub North Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
    • Develop and implement menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation strategies to meet customer demands.
  • Culinary Expertise
    • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events and banquets.
    • Develop and maintain a high level of culinary expertise, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and safety.
    • Implement and maintain a food safety program to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management
    • Manage inventory levels and ordering to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality of ingredients and products.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail.
    • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
    • Standing for extended periods.
