Position Overview

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Work Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off or Fly-in/Fly-out arrangements.

Daily Hours: Ranging from 9 to 12 hours.

Departure Locations: Various departure airports.

We are seeking a Lead Culinary Specialist to take charge of meal preparation in remote camps, with immediate availability.

Reporting to the camp supervisor, the Lead Culinary Specialist will oversee meal production for staff. This role requires ensuring that all menu items are prepared to completion, maintaining quality standards, and managing time effectively under pressure. Leadership and a positive demeanor are essential attributes for this position.

The responsibilities of the Lead Culinary Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner);
  • Cooking hot side dishes according to the menu;
  • Ensuring all necessary preparations are completed and meet quality benchmarks;
  • Monitoring food temperatures and documenting them accurately;
  • Participating in the cleaning and upkeep of kitchen and service areas;
  • Managing food storage and rotation effectively;
  • Ensuring all tasks are performed safely and reporting any issues promptly;
  • Conducting monthly inventory checks;
  • Placing food orders;
  • Performing additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or a related field;
  • At least 3 years of culinary experience;
  • Experience in remote workforce accommodation settings is advantageous;
  • Prior experience in isolated environments within the natural resources or construction sectors is a plus;
