Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the senior-most executive of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Ontario, responsible for leading the organization in achieving its mission, vision, and values. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and is accountable for the overall strategy, direction, and performance of FSRA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic plan for FSRA, including its mission, vision, values, performance objectives, and strategic priorities.
  • Program Responsibilities: Assess and approve the strategic plans, performance objectives, and operating budgets of regulated financial service business units.
  • Financial Leadership: Authorize the commitment of funds to capital projects and ensure the establishment of a sound enterprise risk assessment framework.
  • Administrative Leadership: Develop and maintain a sound organizational structure, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain a culture of service excellence.
  • Human Resources Responsibilities: Submit recommendations for the appointment of members of the Executive Leadership Team and ensure effective performance management approaches.
  • Regulatory and Public Policy Leadership: Champion and promote FSRA's legislative mandate, safeguard regulatory decision-making, and build critical relationships with stakeholders.
  • Board Responsibilities: Attend Board meetings, communicate with the Board on material matters, and provide resource support to the Board and its Committees.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in finance, business administration, law, public policy, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience at an executive leadership level in a regulated sector or a leading regulator.
  • Proven expertise in strategic and operational leadership, with exceptional political acuity and ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships.
