The Transmission Systems Specialist is a key member of SaskPower\u2019s management team, responsible for providing subject matter expertise and administration of strategic and operational functions. This role requires a deep understanding of transmission apparatus, switching stations, and system testing.

\u2022 Develop and implement processes, policies, and procedures to support strategic planning initiatives\u2022 Act as a subject matter expert in transmission systems, providing advice and guidance to management staff\u2022 Identify new business solutions and operational efficiencies, and provide recommendations to senior management\u2022 Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to support corporate and departmental strategic planning initiatives\u2022 Represent the department and prepare and present material to internal and external audiences as required\u2022 Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to transmission systems, and adapt them to SaskPower\u2019s operational environment\u2022 Provide leadership and direction to project teams and/or assigned staff as required

", "KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES": "

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Journeyed Trade Electrician, Power System Electrician, or other related equivalent\u2022 Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s)\u2022 Five (5) years of related field transmission experience with transmission apparatus, switching stations, and/or system test\u2022 Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower\u2022 Results-oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism\u2022 Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills\u2022 Excellent oral and written communication skills\u2022 Ability to work and manage in a changing environment\u2022 Excellent facilitation, project management, and decision-making skills\u2022 Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation, and teamwork\u2022 Demonstrated skill in SaskPower\u2019s competencies\u2022 Must have a continuing record of professional development
