Zehr Construction, a division of Zehr Group, is seeking a **Senior Project Manager** to enhance our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will supervise Project Managers and engage collaboratively on all aspects of project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule. Your leadership will be crucial in guaranteeing that all projects adhere to budgetary constraints and defined scopes. Furthermore, you will ensure that Project Managers meet all expected outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervising significant construction and renovation initiatives to ensure timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with established standards.
  • Leading all phases of the project lifecycle, including concept development, design oversight, and support during the tendering, construction, and commissioning stages.
  • Creating and implementing a risk management strategy, monitoring risks, and developing effective responses to mitigate potential issues.
  • Assisting with the scheduling of necessary building inspections to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing initial and final project budgets.
  • Implementing budget control measures and monitoring expenditures throughout all project phases to ensure delivery within financial constraints. Collaborating with project teams on contract modifications and securing necessary approvals from clients.
  • Coordinating procurement activities with service providers and client groups.
  • Assessing the implications of project delays, cost overruns, and deferrals, and advising client groups accordingly; recommending solutions to address project requirements.
  • Ensuring project site safety and effective management while collaborating with all third-party and internal resources.
  • Performing any additional reasonable tasks necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position in a professional manner.
  • Maintaining familiarity with contract documents and enforcing compliance as required.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of drawing packages, specifications, and project details to understand installation sequencing and identify potential conflicts or gaps in information.
  • Documenting formal changes to contract documents with agreement from all stakeholders.
  • Evaluating information received from trades, consultants, and clients to ensure its validity.
  • Conducting weekly site visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, collaborate with project teams, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of site conditions versus documentation.
  • Understanding trade subcontracts and ensuring accountability to the highest standards, including obligations outlined in their scope of work.
  • Participating in meetings with clients, trades, and consultants.
  • Scheduling bi-weekly update meetings with comprehensive reporting to the VP of Construction Operations.
  • Fostering effective relationships through strong communication practices.
  • Reviewing monthly progress billing to ensure accurate statements of value are provided and rejecting any overbilling. Evaluating monthly progress draws and vetting packages prior to submission to clients.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Exceptional client-facing and internal communication abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, such as MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Teams.
  • Basic understanding of Procore construction software is beneficial.
  • A valid driver's license is required.


Compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and performance. Monthly expenses for vehicle mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with applicable regulations. Other work-related expenses require prior approval. Regular office hours are Monday to Friday, based on a 44-hour work week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the Company's group insurance plans and other employee benefit programs during their employment.
