Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team at Colas Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and details of projects.
- Plan, schedule, and direct crews within the budget and timeline assigned.
- Responsible for job site operations, including onsite activities of Contractors and multiple interfacing projects within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Conduct thorough constructability reviews of detailed design and construction packages, identifying project risks and providing recommendations to mitigate project risks.
- Establishes, coordinates, and monitors construction schedules, staging plans, and interface schedules.
- Coordinates with Lead Field Specialist and Technical Advisor on required quality inspections, including Witness and Hold Points.
- Monitors and records the Contractor's progress, maintaining and distributing detailed contemporaneous site records.
- Ensures construction operations adhere to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget.
- Maintains relationships with subcontractors, other segmental personnel, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented, including project ECO plan, and all legislative responsibilities.
- Ensures employees are provided with and use the appropriate equipment, material, and/or procedures required to perform their jobs safely.
- Previous experience working with site development, grading, and earthworks, drainage, and large paving projects.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Project.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced math skills.
- Commitment to delivering results on time.
- Excellent organizational skills and knowledge of project management, estimating, and cost control skills.
Requirements include a minimum of 5 years of related Superintendent/General Foreman experience, 10-15 years of Sewer/Water/Road building construction experience, and a valid Class 5 Driver's license (clean abstract preferred). Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects is also required.
