Packaging Engineer Consultant

At Equity Packaging Inc. - North America, we are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Engineer Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our packaging innovation team, you will be responsible for managing and executing packaging innovation and productivity projects. This will involve leading complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal supervision, as well as providing technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute packaging innovation and productivity projects
  • Lead complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal supervision
  • Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses
  • Manage Innovation Project from concept through commercialization and retail shelves
  • Work with internal customers to commercialize packaging designs and concepts
  • Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials including planning, conducting and posttrial activities
  • Partner with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging
  • Lead internal and external relationships to effectively influence and gain support for initiatives
  • Able to identify areas of cost savings or improvements to new and on market products
  • Represent packaging in cross functional team meetings to develop and implement new packaging and packaging changes to realize cost savings
  • Conduct line trials
  • Conduct lab testing
  • Develop packaging specifications

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering
  • 5+ years minimum experience in Packaging R&D, Food & Beverage or related industries
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
