Research Scientist, Alexa Daily Essentials

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Alexa Daily Essentials team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and implementing large language model innovations to enhance Alexa's language understanding, knowledge representation, reasoning, and generation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop novel machine learning and large language model solutions to improve Alexa's conversational capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and drive science solutions from conception to customer delivery.
- Develop and maintain high-performance machine learning models and systems, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
- Conduct research and develop new training and inference techniques to improve model performance.
- Publish research papers and present findings at industry conferences.
- Code proficiently in Python and Java, with experience in optimizing systems for high performance at scale.
- PhD or Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
- 4+ years of experience in quantitative field research, with a focus on machine learning and natural language processing.
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.
- Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.

We offer a competitive salary range of $126,300/year to $210,900/year, depending on experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, we also offer equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
