Job Title: Labour Relations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Labour Relations Specialist to join our team at Queen's University. As a key member of our human resources department, you will play a critical role in negotiating collective agreements, developing and implementing human resources policies, and providing expert advice to management and employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and programs to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of the university, ensuring fair and equitable terms for both employees and management.
  • Provide expert advice to management and employees on human resources policies, benefit programs, and collective agreements.
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales to ensure fairness and equity in the workplace.
  • Manage contracts and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in labour relations or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Judgement and client focus.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and values and ethics.
  • Pension plan, dental plan, and health care plan.
  • 35 hours per week.
  • English language.
