Job Title: Half-way House Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Half-way House Worker to join our team at The Governing Council of The Salvation Army. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their journey towards rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for clients living in our half-way house. This will involve supervising daily activities, providing guidance and mentorship, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support clients in their daily activities, including meal preparation, household chores, and personal care.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to clients, helping them to set and achieve goals, and develop life skills.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy environment, ensuring that clients have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement individualized plans for clients, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Document client progress and provide regular updates to supervisors and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Enhanced reliability security clearance.
