Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Resident Care Team

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Resident Care Team at Mon Sheong Foundation. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Resident-Centred Care: Assist and support Registered Nurses and other members of the Interdisciplinary Resident Care Team in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident-centred care models.
  • Lead Nursing and Personal Support Care: Demonstrate leadership skills, providing feedback and guidance to non-regulated staff, and participating in the development of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety: Conduct regular rounds and inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards, and ensure compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
  • Manage Material Resources: Oversee supply processes, provide education on the use of health-related equipment and supplies, and promote continuity of care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure all nursing documentation meets regulatory standards, and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Registration and Certification: Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and provide valid proof of registration.
Requirements:
  • Education and Certification: Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario, valid CPR (Health Care Provider Level C/Basic Life Support) and First Aid certificates.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to discern relevant information, make effective judgments, and decisions to manage care; ability to work as a team leader, demonstrate supervisory skills, and adhere to professional competences.
  • Language: Proficiency in oral and written English; cultural sensitivity and ability to speak Cantonese/Mandarin an asset.
