Asphalt Plant Technician

Tomlinson Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Asphalt Plant Operator/Batcher to join our team at our Ottawa area asphalt plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily asphalt production operations
  • Monitor and maintain efficient plant operations
  • Unload truck loads of liquid asphalt safely
  • Perform mechanical duties such as bearing and belt maintenance
  • Contribute to plant maintenance and upkeep
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by management

Working Conditions:

  • Work at the asphalt plant
  • Regular shifts are 8 hours a day
  • May require extended shifts, night work, and weekend work
  • Exposure to the elements
  • Some physical work, including lifting
  • Working at heights

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a general labourer may be beneficial
  • Mechanical knowledge and skills
  • Specific asphalt training and experience
  • Welding experience is an asset
  • Batching knowledge is essential
