Technical Lead

As a Technical Lead at HCL Technologies, you will be responsible for leading complex test automation efforts using Cucumber and Java for large Agile software projects. You will work closely with the application architects to develop a solid testing solution, working towards the future state of the application architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Architecting, developing, and maintaining an innovative test automation system for the organization.
- Defining automated test criteria, designing and developing the organization's Test Automation framework, and developing automated tests for all functionality that meets specified automation criteria.
- Leading complex test automation efforts using Cucumber and Java for large Agile software projects and identifying innovative solutions to solve complex test problems.
- Collaborating in a team-based Agile environment with other technical staff, business owners, and subject matter experts, following industry-standard Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
- Assisting in the training and mentoring of team members, including testers, developers, and business analysts, and implementing organization-wide Quality Process initiatives to ensure quality of deliverables.
- Communicating automation goals, priorities, and status across the organization.
- Defining Behavior Driven Development approach and tools for Automated Testing in an Agile project.
- Partnering with Agile Release Train to plan for new functionality, resolve defects, and incorporate error injection test methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering experience, or Master's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience.
- 6 years of experience with automation testing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using Automated Testing Tools like Cucumber.
- 5 years of hands-on experience using Cucumber.
- 1 year of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining an innovative test automation environment, including automation test framework design and development.
- 2 years of experience with agile development (preferably SAFe), test-driven development, advanced concepts of Scrum, and knowledge of agile project tools, such as VersionOne.
To be responsible for providing technical guidance or solutions; define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.
To ensure process compliance in the assigned module and participate in technical discussions or reviews as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
