Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Health Benefits Trust of Alberta (HBTA) need someone like you to lead the role of Senior Advisor, Employee Benefits & Retirement Programs Centre of Expertise (EBRP COE). As a large organization with over 100,000 employees, we require someone who can navigate a multi-union and multiple plan environment.

Description:

As a member of our dynamic and strategic group benefits and retirement programs team, the Senior Advisor position provides expert analytics skills and advice that contributes to the success and sustainability of group benefits and retirement programs. You will partner with key stakeholders to develop targeted solutions and needs-based programming in collaboration with Human Resource teams, AHS departments, unions, consultants, and service providers. Your deep subject matter expertise will enable you to provide leadership to your peers, make informed decisions, and engage in alternative scenario assessment to accurately determine the impact of plan changes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement targeted solutions and needs-based programming
  • Provide expert analytics skills and advice to contribute to the success and sustainability of group benefits and retirement programs
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective management strategies
  • Lead the team in making informed decisions and engaging in alternative scenario assessment
Required Qualifications:

CEBS designation or other related professional designation. A combination of education, skills, and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Business degree, underwriting, project management training, actuarial, investment, financial planner, or accounting certification. More than 5 years' experience in a similar role in a complex environment. Understanding of group benefit and retirement program trending.
