Sioux Lookout, Canada Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority Full time
Project Manager Mental Health and Addictions Task Force

The Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) is committed to improving the health framework for its member First Nations. Following directives from Chiefs-In-Assembly, SLFNHA has been tasked with formulating a regional, all-encompassing strategy for mental health and addictions. Previous resolutions have included a Comprehensive Addictions Strategy and a Youth Mental Health Strategy. Recently, a resolution declaring a Public Health Emergency and Social Crisis to Address Mental Health and Addictions was enacted, leading to the establishment of a Mental Health and Addictions Task Force (MHATF).

SLFNHA has conducted a thorough review of Mental Health and Addictions, facilitated by an external consultancy. This review encompassed a literature analysis and extensive community engagement, including visits, focus groups, surveys, and interviews. The findings and recommendations culminated in a comprehensive report outlining a coordinated Mental Health and Addictions System, along with a Model for Mental Wellbeing in Communities.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will oversee and drive the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the Mental Health and Addictions Review Final Report, the Model for Mental Wellbeing in Communities, and the Health Status report on Mental Health and Substance Use.

This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of SLFNHA and serves as the primary contact for the MHATF, providing regular updates and ensuring ongoing oversight, guidance, and support throughout the planning, development, and execution of the initiatives derived from the reports.
