Position Overview

At JMP Solutions, the expertise of our Controls Specialists is fundamental to our operations. As a Controls Engineering Intern, you will play a crucial role in addressing our clients' challenges through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging directly with clients to provide top-tier service and support.
  • Contributing to project management and business development efforts.
  • Developing, designing, and integrating advanced automation solutions.
  • Managing various phases of automation and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) projects, including:
    • Electrical design
    • PLC programming
    • HMI design
    • SCADA systems
    • Communication interfacing
    • Troubleshooting, testing, and debugging
Project Management

Utilize your project management skills to:

  • Prepare quotes
  • Order materials
  • Manage budgets
Customer Engagement

Deliver exceptional customer experiences by:

  • Interfacing with clients during field service and emergency calls.
  • Participating in customer meetings and sharing your technical knowledge.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Design, or a related field.
  • Approximately 3+ years of experience with:
    • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC-5, SLC500, ControlLogix)
    • HMI Programming
    • AutoCAD/Electrical Design
    • Debugging, Testing, and Commissioning
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) for SDVs/AMRs is advantageous.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, Python, and Ignition is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry or manufacturing processes, particularly in automotive, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors, is beneficial.
