We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at SHO SUSHI BAR AND KITCHEN. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to our culinary standards and presentation guidelines.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Order supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Organize buffets and banquets, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Manage kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Japanese cuisine, with a focus on sushi preparation and presentation.
- International cuisine, with a emphasis on cultural diversity and culinary innovation.
- Attention to detail, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
- Fast-paced environment, requiring adaptability and multitasking skills.
- Physically demanding, requiring stamina and endurance.
- Client focus, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Dependability, reliability, and organization, ensuring seamless kitchen operations and staff supervision.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
