About the Opportunity

The Radiological Technologist is a key member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision. This role requires the ability to exercise independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, applying the ALARA principle, and continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. Effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment is essential, as is fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

About You
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Rotation to other areas in Central Zone Diagnostic Imaging may be required
Compensation and Benefits

$37.54 hourly
