Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Marketing role is a critical position at Newell with responsibility for delivering country-level P&L expectations and adapting global marketing strategies to local priorities. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to drive objectives and lead the development of brand foundational tools, including brand positioning, architecture, and value proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adapt global brand strategy for the segment and country, including leadership of brand foundational tools.
  • Assist the BU CEO in building the long-range strategic plan and lead the team in preparing the annual business plan.
  • Drive the P&L statement through strong financial management, improved profitability targets, cost cutting, and complexity reduction.
  • Translate business priorities into brand objectives, strategies, and plans, and inspire consumers through product performance, pricing, and positioning.
  • Manage P&Ls, including pricing, cost reduction, inventory management, and forecasting future performance.
  • Develop a 3-year innovation pipeline by unlocking consumer insights and translating them into disruptive and incremental innovations.
  • Design omnichannel strategic plans, product assortments, and key feature/benefit claims, and partner with the center marketing team to build winning assortments.
  • Leverage analytics to identify business growth opportunities and translate them into revenue or market share improvement.
  • Drive impactful omnichannel brand communication, defining brand personality, key messaging vehicles, and brand image guidelines.
  • Develop effective omnichannel promotional strategies, including off-shelf events, digital promotions, and key merchandising requirements.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • A four-year University degree with a focus on business, marketing, or a related field, and an MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of brand management experience, including deep marketing, innovation, and general management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a team, with the ability to attract and retain top talent.
  • Industry experience in CPG and hardlines, with proven ability to be successful in both.
  • Prior demonstration of being a brand steward, building and implementing brand architecture, and driving brand value across all consumer channels.
  • Classical brand builder with strong digital marketing skills, including DTC, eCommerce, and Retailer Media Networks.
  • Deep experience gleaning consumer insights and leveraging analytics to drive leadership brand sales.
  • Proven success leading and seeking the input of the team, while guiding everyone to be better at what they do and how they perform.
