Job Title: Registered Nurse - Crisis Intervention Specialist

Medavie Health Services is a leading provider of primary health care solutions, emergency medical services, and community paramedicine programs across Canada. As a Registered Nurse - Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will be part of our Mobile Mental Health Team, responding to individuals in crisis and providing de-escalation, mental health, and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to crisis calls and provide de-escalation services
  • Conduct mental health and risk assessments to facilitate case formulation and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including law enforcement and EMS
  • Develop and implement care plans, ensuring evidence-based practices
  • Provide initial psychological interviews and assessments
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree or diploma in nursing, with extensive clinical experience in mental health settings
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island
  • Knowledge of the DSM-5, Mental Health Act, and crisis intervention principles
  • Valid Driver's license and good attendance record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training
  • Suicide risk assessment training
  • Violence risk assessment training
  • Canadian Nurses Association certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
